Bihar facing shortage of 108 IAS officers

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): After West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, it is Bihar which is facing the maximum shortage of IAS officers.

In all 139 vacancies exist in West Bengal as against the authorized cadre strength of 359, followed by 118 and 108 in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, respectively.

The total authorized strength of IAS officers in India is 6,270. Of these 4,619 are in position. Thus there is shortage of 1,651 IAS officers in the country.

This information was given by the minister of state for personnel, public grievances and pensions Jitendra Singh told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply on Thursday.

The authorized strength of IAS in UP is 592 and for Bihar it is 326.
