Peace returns to Council as SuMo apologizes to Nitish, praises Sharad

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after JD(U) and BJP MLCs clashed in the Legislative Council normalcy returned in the Upper House on Friday.
Peace was restored after the Chairman Awadesh Narayan Singh gave a clean chit to former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was accused of instigating the incident by the Leader of Opposition, Sushil Kumar Modi. The latter expressed regret about the incident.
The meeting passed an unanimous resolution requesting Nitish to come back to the House. As the House assembled for the day at 11 AM the Chairman, who himself belongs to the BJP, expressed pain over the clash and said: “I saw it with my own eyes and the TV footage also makes it clear that Nitish Kumar did not instigate anybody to pick fight. He rather worked hard to bring peace among warring members.”
Modi expressed regret for the incident and said he is sorry if any BJP members did anything wrong. He said he respects Nitish from the core of his heart and request him to return to the House. He said that his intention was not to hurt amyone.
Modi said he has personal and political association with Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad and Ram Vilas Paswan for 40 years and have learnt a lot from Nitish as Deputy Chief Minister for over seven years of the NDA rule.
He also showered praise on the Janata Dal (United) chief, Sharad Yadav, and called him his ‘political guru’.
“In my political career, I owe a lot to one man, Sharad Yadav,” he said adding the BJP, with the JD(U) rebels, did not put up any candidate against Sharad in the recently held by-election for the Rajya Sabha.
The meeting ended with the BJP withdrawing its allegation against Nitish amd JD(U) withdrawing its demand for the suspension of the BJP MLCs.
Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was also present in the meeting in which RJD leader Rabri Devi and leaders of other parties took part.
