JD(U) a divided house, reiterates SuMo

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister and the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) leader, Sushil Kumar Modi, on Sunday once again claimed that the Janata Dal (United) in Bihar was headed for a split.
In a statement he said the ruling party is now headed for split between two power centres––one led by the present chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and the other by his predecessor Nitish Kumar.

However, the JD(U) rubbished the remarks.

Modi said Jitan Ram Manjhi and Nitish Kumar are speaking in contradictory voices and so are some ministers owing allegiance to the two leaders.

SuMo said there was also confusion in the ruling party rank and file as to who would lead its campaign for the next Assembly election.

He charged some senior JD(U) ministers with showing disrespect towards Manjhi saying that agriculture minister Narendra Singh had contradicted the chief minister’s remark that he was misled by the senior bureaucrats and district magistrates on assessment of drought situation in Bihar.
