Manjhi to develop his village on pattern of Kalyanbigha

Patna,(BiharTimes): The native village of Bihar chief minister, Jitan Ram Manjhi, will soon be elevated to the status of block.

This announcement was made by the chief minister, on Saturday while laying the foundation stone of Rs 3.76 crore police station at Mahakar village in Khizersarai block of Gaya district.

Manjhi also distributed papers among the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes at his village to mark his homecoming.

He also gifted a power sub-station to the village and said that it would soon get the status of block.

Besides, a police outpost will be set up at Gehlaur, the native village of Mountain Man Dasrath Manjhi.

The chief minister said the state government is committed to develop the entire area. DPRs worth Rs 200 crore have been approved for Gaya and neighbouring Jehanabad districts.

An Industrial Training Institute (ITI) would come up in the current financial year.

Manjhi said on the occasion that Mahakar would soon have all necessary infrastructure. It would have a hospital, a high school and a veterinary hospital.

It needs to be recalled that earlier this month, Manjhi had pledged to develop Gaya the way his predecessor Nitish Kumar had developed Nalanda.

The state government had spent a large sum of rupees to develop Nitish’s ancestral village, Kalyanbigha, in the district.

Like Nitish Kumar his successor too said that he got inspiration from Afghan emperor Sher Shah to develop Bihar in a very short time.
