Congress pays no heed to JD(U)’s offer to Dr Shakeel Ahmed

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Congress has party paid no heed to the Janata Dal (United)’s offer of the Rajya Sabha berth to the party general secretary, Dr Shakeel Ahmed.

Many Congressmen consider the offer ridiculous and totally non-serious as the party is not at all interested in the infighting within the Janata Dal (United). The truth is that the offer died its own death due to squabbling within the JD(U). What to speak of ensuring the victory to Shakeel the party is finding it extremely difficult to send its own candidates Pawan Verma and Ghulam Rasool Baliyawi to the Upper House of Parliament.

Aware of the fight till finish within the JD(U) the Congress party completely ignored the offer and did not even deem it fit to react on the issue. Even Shakeel himself said that he was “unaware of the offer”.

Anyway the Congress recently fought Lok Sabha election in Bihar in alliance with the RJD and NCP and the combine ended up getting 30 per cent votes against 15.8 per cent by JD(U). The Congress is, at present, not in the position to break its alliance with the RJD and tie up with the JD(U), where the position is all the more chaotic and uncertain.
