Sharad wins unopposed, but only ‘one-third’ happy

Patna,(BiharTimes): The national president of Janata Dal (United), Sharad Yadav, on Thursday won the Rajya Sabha election unopposed. He got the support of Janata Dal (United) MLAs as well as that of the rebels.

However, Sharad said that he was only one-third happy because it is only he who had won. He said that now the responsibility is to ensure the victory of two other official candidates of the party, Pawan Verma and Ghulam Rasool Balyawi.

He did not celebrate the victory and did not even go to the Assembly to accept the certificate. It was minister Shrawan Kumar, who brought it to him in the hotel room.

Meanwhile, the BJP candidate, Dilip Jaiswal, on Thursday withdrew his name from the Rajya Sabha by-election. He said that in the changed situation he deemed it fit to keep himself away from the contest.
