From 22-year old to married woman: Those who make it to Civil Service from Bihar

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Civil Service aspirants from Bihar made their mark this year––may be not with number. A 22 year old boy, Utkrisht Prasoon, who was waiting for the B Tech exam result at the time of appearing in this competition last year, got 101st rank. Preeti Sinha, a working lady married eight years back, too made it and secured 828 position. 

However, it was Divyanshu Jha, originally from Darbhanga, but did his schooling from Patna, who was the topper among Bihari. He secured 9th rank. 

He passed Class-X from Don Bosco and Class-XII from St Michael High School and B Tech from IIT Kanpur. This was his third attempt. He secured 648th rank in his second attempt last year.

His father, Bimlendu Shekhar Jha, is an AGM working with Power Grid Corporation. His mother’s name is Seema Jha.

Faiz Ahmad Mumtaz of Muzaffarpur stood 17th while Varun Ranjan of Aurangabad 38th position, 
Kundan Kumar of Hajipur, got 89th rank while Kapidhwaja Prtap N Singh of Siwan 94th. He is the son of a retired school teacher and working in a firm in Bangalore.

Neelotpal of Bhagalpur, who did his schooling from his home town and engineering from the Bhagalpur College of Engineering, bagged 98th position while Avinish 100th.

Neelotpal resigned from his job with Hindustan Petroleum to prepare for the examination. Having secured a group ‘A’ job in his first attempt in 2012, he was determined to get into the Indian Administrative Service and did so in his second attempt.

He attributed his success to his late father Omkarnath Mishra, who worked with All India Radio.

Utkrisht Prasoon is originally of Ara, but his professor parents are settled in Patna. He got 101st rank. His father is Prof Damodar Singh and teaches in B S College-Danapur and mother, Prof Abha Singh in A N College, Patna.

Utkrisht is just 22 and appeared in the UPSC exam when he was waiting for final year BTech (Information Technology) examination from Delhi Technical University, (formerly College of Engineering).

He did his schooling from DPS-Patna and DPS-R K Puram. He gave credit to his parents and elder brother Abhinav Prasoon, who is an Indian Information Service officer.

Prerna Shahi of Patna got 109th, She is the daughter of the Janata Dal (United) MLA, Gajanand Shahi alias Munna Shahi. Last year she qualified but got Indian Economic Service. She is undergoing training in Mumbai.

Prerna studied in Mount Carmel High School and Notre Dame Academy in Patna.

After clearing her class XII examination from Notre Dame in 2007, she went to Hindu College in Delhi for her graduation. She thereafter joined the Delhi School of Economics and completed her postgraduation with 75.7 per cent marks in 2010.

Ashutosh Shekhar from Rampur diara bagged 191st position while Shashi Ranjan of Biharsharif 252nd.

Saagar Srivastava, the son of senior IAS officer Manoj Srivastava, is placed 282 on the list. Saagar passed out from the London School of Economics (LSE), with a first class in Economics. He is at present working with Royal Bank of Scotland in Dubai. This was his second attempt and qualified last year too, but appeared again to improve his rank.

Sabyasachi Kumar of Bhagalpur was placed 304th and Kumar Ashutosh, 356.

Modassar Shafi 418, Abhinav Kumar 467, Kumar Satyam 524, Hritwik of Rohtas, 529, Sukirti Madhav 533, Mohammad Iqbal, Anand Mohan Mishra of Saharsa 595, Neeraj Kumar Singh of Patna 666, Daya Shankar 778 and Ashish Bharati 813 are others who made it.

The story of Preeti Sinha of Nalanda, who secured 828 position, is worth mentioning. 

Preeti got married eight years back when she was in the first year engineering at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, New Delhi. She tried twice but failed. This time she finally made it. She got full cooperation from her husband, Dr Rajiv Nayan, a heart specialist in Delhi, and is planning to appear again for improvement.

After becoming an engineer, Preeti worked with TCS as a software engineer. She cleared the Bihar Public Service Commission exams last year. She is now on training for the Bihar Finance Service in Patna.

In all over two dozens candidates from Bihar qualified the Civil Service Mains 2013 examination, for which the result was announced on Thursday(June 12).
