BJP observes first anniversary of betrayal by JD(U)

Patna,(BiharTimes): The BJP on Monday organized public meetings at various places to mark the first anniversary of Vishwasghat Din (Betrayal Day). It was on June 16 last year that the former chief minister Nitish Kumar sacked all the 11 BJP ministers and snapped ties with the saffron party after 17 long years of association with it.

Speaking on the occasion the party leaders strongly denounced Nitish for betraying the mandate given by the people in November 2010 to the JD(U)-BJP alliance. Instead it is running the government with the support of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress and CPI.

Terming June 16, 2013 as a black chapter in Bihar’s history, the former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, while addressing the party workers, said that people of the state would not live in peace till they avenge the betrayal of their mandate by the Janata Dal (United). They have taught the party a bitter lesson in the recent Lok Sabha election and would do so again in 2015 Assembly poll.

Sushil Kumar Modi asked three questions from Nitish: “Had the people voted the JD(U)-BJP alliance in 2010 to make Jitan Ram Manjhi the chief minister? Had the people voted for alliance to run the government with support of the Congress and the RJD? Had the people voted for Nitish to allow him to tie up with Lalu, the synonym to jungle raj, which the NDA had replaced?”

Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav, state party chief Mangal Pandey and other party leaders spoke on the occasion.
