Extortion call to two Bihar MLAs

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Two Bihar MLAs––one of them of ruling Janata Dal (United) and another of the BJP––have received extortion calls from gangsters recently.

According to police report extortionist have demanded Rs 10 lakh from Ram Chandra Sahni, a former minister and BJP MLA from Sugauli in East Champaran district and threatened to kill him if he fails to pay the amount. 

Sahni told the media that during the last three days, he received several calls from a particular number and on Tuesday he lodged a case in this regard with Sugauli police station.

He had received phone calls even when he was in Patna. The caller said that they are related to Dubey gang.

The East Champaran SP Vinay Kumar has directed the Sugauli police to trace the caller and arrest the criminals. 

Police said , two persons have been detained in this connection and they are being interrograted. 

Another extortion call was made to Shyam Bihari Prasad, JD(U) MLA of Narkitaya from the same mobile phone number two months ago.
