It was a crippling blow to BJP: Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Thanking the JD(U) MLAs as well as those of RJD, Congress, CPI and Independents for inflicting a crippling blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party, former chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday said the saffron party had got fully exposed.

Addressing a Press conference he said that all these parties responded to his call to back the JD(U) in its fight against the BJP as they are aware of its evil design.

Nitish reiterated that the BJP had in the beginning said that it had nothing to do with the Rajya Sabha by-election, but later started playing all the dirty games, which had never been played in Bihar. He termed this as a ‘ghinaouni rajniti’ (nasty politics) of the BJP.

The former chief minister asked is this the beginning of ‘achche din’, the slogan on which they came to power. The BJP people even wanted to break the RJD and make a deal with it. Now that the RJD had openly supported JD(U) the BJP had got exposed.

Nitish made a special reference to say that the RJD had taken a correct decision and Lalu Prasadji guided his legislators in this regard.

Those who have lost the by-election have lost their faces. All the norms have been thrown into the wind. Nitish said it is the first defeat of the BJP and the party would suffer more in the days to come.

He took Sushil Kumar Modi to task for attacking the governor. It is a known fact that the nominations in the Council are done at the recommendations of the state government.

Nitish reminded the saffron party of the similar nominations made in 2006 when both the JD(U) and BJP people were sent to the Upper House of the Council. Where were then the BJP people, he asked.

He said that SuMo’s action is simply condemnable and unconstitutional.

He said that the BJP people have become arrogant after winning recent election and removing the governors and making shallow comments on them.

Nitish said that never in the history had any government come to power in the Centre with just 30-31 per cent votes, yet they are behaving like an upstart and destroying all the democratic norms of the country.
