Patna, June 28 (IANS) In a barbaric act, a 22-year-old man was blinded and then shot dead Saturday in Bihar's Patna district in front of his girl friend's house allegedly by her close relatives in a suspected "honour" killing case, police said. Two people have been arrested.

Rahul Kumar was first mercilessly beaten, both his eyes gouged out, before he was shot dead at Daulatpur in Patna, a police official said.

The post-mortem report also revealed that both his eyes were badly damaged and he was shot twice.

Following the horrifying incident, police have arrested two people and lodged a named FIR against six people in this connection.

Some villagers have informed the local police officials that the girl's close relatives were against her affair with Rahul.
