Bima Bharati becomes Bihar minister without reading oath

Patna,(BiharTimes): Bima Bharati, who was inducted into the Jitan Ram Manjhi cabinet on June 2, will go down in the history as the first person in India’s history, to become minister without taking oath as she was unable to read it.

As she has no formal degree she almost fumbled while oath was being administered to her by the Governor, D Y Patil, in Raj Bhawan on Monday evening.

Not to speak of the opposition even the ruling party leaders and legislators were shocked at her induction. Party MLA from Barh, Gyanendra Singh Gyanu criticized the induction of such minister into the cabinet.

Bima Bharti is third time MLA from Rupauli Assembly seat of Purnea. She is the estranged wife of notorious outlaw Awadesh Mandal. However, since she crossed over from RJD to JD(U) before the 2010 Assembly election she has been close to the former chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Apart from Bima those inducted into the Jitan Ram Manjhi ministry are Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh, Shrawan Kumar, Ram Lakhan Ram Raman, Jawaid Eqbal Ansari, Samrat Chaudhary, Mahachandra Prasad Singh, Ramdhani Singh, Jay Kumar Singh, Manoj Kumar Singh, Ranju Geeta, Baidyanath Sahni, Naushad Alam and Binod Prasad Yadav.
