More resignations in JD(U) as dissension spreads

Patna,(BiharTimes): Resentment continues to grow in the Janata Dal (United). After the resignation of science and technology minister, Gautam Singh, and the party spokesman, Neeraj Kumar, MLC, it is the party MLA, Izhar Ahmed, who quit from the state executive of the party.
While Gautam was reportedly pressurized to resign as he had worked for the RJD candidate from Maharajganj Lok Sabha seat, Prabhunath Singh, in the recent election, Neeraj Kumar resigned from the post in protest against the induction of defectors as ministers. On Monday he said that those who had humilitated the party leaders have been made ministers while the dedicated party workers like him have been overlooked.
Similar argument was given on Tuesday by the party MLA, Izhar Ahmed. He was an LJP MLA before the 2010 Assembly election, but joined the JD(U) and was hoping to get the ministerial berth this time.
But chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi chose to induct Jawaid Eqbal Ansari, who defected from the RJD recently, and Naushad Alam as ministers. Izhar was ignored notwithstanding the fact that his association with the party is much longer than the other two Muslim leaders, who were made ministers,
Another MLA Ajit Kumar has also threatened to quit from the state executive of the JD(U).
