Nitish, Lalu failed to stop NaMo from becoming PM: Ravi Shankar

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Union telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said on Saturday that notwithstanding all out efforts by Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad the BJP leader Narendra Modi became the prime minister of the country.

Speaking at a function organized at the state BJP office in his honour he said that Modi’s election had its reverberations outside India and had sent a very positive message across the world: how a poor boy can also become the Prime Minister by sheer dint of hard labour and dedication. It is the victory of democracy of India and defeat of dynastic rule, legacy and will.

Ravi Shankar, who was in Patna for the first time after becoming the telecom minister, said Bihar has huge potential for developing information technology and his department would explore various avenues in this direction.

He said state has potential for expansion of broadband facility. The minister said the Vajpayee government was known for its national highways, the Modi government would be known for its broadband highways.

On the issue of special category status to Bihar he said special attention would be given to the entire eastern region of the country.

Meanwhile, the Union minister of state for rural development, Upendra Kushwaha, said that the so-called talks about the prospect of an alliance among RJD, JD(U) and Congress would have no impact on the Assembly election in 2015. People have rejected these parties in the recent Lok Sabha election and they can not gain anything by joining hands. He said 0+0+0 is always zero and it could have no value.

He said that the Narendra Modi government would fulfil all the promises made during the election campaign.
