Cabinet nod for multi-layer overbridge on Bailey Road in Patna

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar cabinet on Friday gave its nod to a multi-layer overbridge on Bailey Road in Patna.

According to the cabinet coordination department principal secretary Brajesh Mehrotra the estimated cost of this road construction department (RCD) project would be Rs 391.47 crore. The work on the overbridge would be over before the completion of the construction work of the Bihar Museum coming up on Bailey Road by 2015.

There would be four multi- underpass on Bailey Road at Lalit Bhavan, Punaichak intersection, Hartali Mor and Boring Road intersection.

It would be built under the central government’s Backward Region Grant Fund.

As reported earlier the project was prepared by a team of IIT-Delhi.

The zone from Lalit Bhavan to Boring Road intersection on Bailey Road would have no traffic signals. There would be separate traffic lanes, which will minimize interaction among drivers, reducing conflict points and traffic slowdown.

The cabinet also gave its green signal to the RCD proposal to widen the NH-31 from Sadar Hospital to Gulab Bagh in Purnea town, covering a stretch of 6.8km, at an estimated cost of Rs 48.12 crore. A sum of Rs 26.2 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of cross drain on NH-30 on Guru Govind Singh link road in Patna Sahib, covering a stretch of 1.20km.
