Three BJP legislators raise banner of revolt

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Baisi, Santosh Kushwaha, and former minister and MLA, Ramadhar Singh, as well as MLC, Manoj Kumar, have raised the banner of revolt against the party leadership over the allotment of tickets for the coming Lok Sabha election.

In a Press conference on Saturday Kushwaha asked the party to change its candidate from Purnea, Uday Singh, on the plea that the workers are angry with his performance. He did not stop there but showered praise on chief minister Nitish Kumar.

Santosh, who is the first time MLA, went on to say that if the candidate is not changed he would draw his future course of action. Thus in a way he had given enough signal to the party that he is about to leave the BJP. Reports suggest that Janata Dal (United) is most likely to make him the Lok Sabha candidate from Purnea.

In Aurangabad two Rajputs are metaphorically crossing swords. The former BJP minister and MLA, Ramadhar Singh, has vowed to bury Sushil Kumar Singh and thus carry his fight till the end. According to him Kshatriya dharam says that the sworn enemy should be buried.

Sushil Kumar Singh, however, refused to comment.

Sushil is the sitting MP and crossed over from Janata Dal (United) recently. His name figure in the list of 23 candidates prepared by the party but not officially disclosed.

This infuriated Ramadhar who has since been eying for the Aurangabad Lok Sabha seat.

Reports from within the party said that several more leaders may quit the party after the list for the Lok Sabha election is announced.

There is strong protest within the party in Siwan over the likely allotment of party ticket to Om Prakash Yadav, the sitting Independent MP, who switched to the BJP recently. There is stiff opposition to his name from many old leaders, who have even threatened to quit. BJP MLC, Manoj Kumar, is reportedly upset over this development.

Similarly, resentment prevails in Buxar, where the party is going to make Bhojpuri singer, Manoj Tiwary, as its candidate. The candidatures of former Union home secretary, Raj Kumar Singh, from Ara and that of Putul Kumari Singh from Banka are being opposed by many hard-core leaders.

What is surprising is that pro-Narendra Modi leaders like Giriraj Singh, Ashwani Kumar Choubey and Amrendra Pratap Singh do not figure in the likely list of 23 candidates prepared by the party. The BJP would contest only 30 seats leaving 10 for LJP and RLSP.

The official announcement of the candidate would be made later.
