BJP MLA Achyuatanand threatens to contest against LJP’s Rama Singh

Patna,(BiharTimes): Yet another BJP MLA from Bihar, Dr Achyuatanand, has raised the banner of revolt and threatened to contest the Vaishali Lok Sabha seat as Independent if under the alliance formula the Lok Janshakti Party’s Rama Kishore Singh alias Rama Singh fights from here.

Talking to the media on Saturday he once again expressed his strong opposition to his party’s alliance with the LJP. It needs to be recalled that in 2010 Assembly election Achyuatanand defeated Rama Singh of the LJP.

He told the media that he would not cross over to any other party such as the RJD, whose Jungle Raj he still opposes.

He is the latest among the BJP legislators to go to the extent of quitting the party to contest election. He has not mellowed down even after paying visit to Delhi and continues to hold the same view. Incidentally, his statement came less than 48 hours before Narendra Modi’s Muzaffarpur rally of March 3. Among others LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan may attend it.

Meanwhile, the BJP’s national vice president, Dr C P Thakur, appears to have somewhat softened his stand on alliance with the LJP. He refused to say much except: “Ab to gathbandan hogaya lekar chalna hai. (Now that the alliance has been made one will have to carry it forward). High command has decided and we will have to support it,” was how he reacted.

Former ministers opposed to the alliance such as Ashwani Kumar Choubey and Giriraj Singh are maintaining low profile.
