Nitish faces hostile crowd in Bagaha

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday faced protest from the para-teachers, mid-day meal cooks of the school and cane farmers during his Sankalp Yatra in Bagaha in West Champaran district.

Incidentally, the Yatra coincided with the announcement of the election dates; thus the whole exercise took a different turn.

It was from Bagaha sub-division that he launched his Nyaya Yatra in 2005 which paved the way to become the chief minister of the state.

He heard their plea for better remuneration from the rasoyias (cooks) who prepare mid-day meals for schoolchildren. Later he assured them to look into their demands.

His partymen, most of them with lathis in hand, silenced the contractual teachers.

When Nitish rose to speak he said that he brought back peace to the state and restore law and order situation. He said that earlier kidnapping industry used to flourish in the region, which his government had crushed.

He reiterated his campaign for special status and said that both Congress and BJP conspire to get Seemandhar get the special status within 24 hours. He sees a conspiracy to deny Bihar this status.
Earlier, the chief minister drove through Lauriya ignoring farmers sitting on dharna for payment of sugarcane price by the new mill for the past three days.
