Patna,(BiharTimes): Unconfirmed reports from New Delhi said that RJD Rajya Sabha MP Ram Kripal Yadav met the BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Friday.
However, no official confirmation has been made. Ram Kripal himself refused to make any comment on the latest development and just said that he was still a member of the RJD. He, however, added that he, and many other workers, are hurt and sad over the distribution of tickets by the party high command.
In the meantime, Misa Bharati, the RJD candidate from Patliputra and the daughter of Lalu Prasad, rushed to the house of Ram Kripal Yadav with the offer to withdraw her name in his favour. However, Ram Kripal did not meet him.
“I was asked to sit inside as Ram Kripalji was giving an interview. In the meantime he went away,” she told the media adding that “I am ready to leave the seat if Ram Kripalji wants to contest from Patliputra. I am ready to give my qurbani (sacrifice). If there is some other reason I can not say anything.”
However, she added that she would sit here and go only after meeting Ram Kripalji. “After all it is my home,” she said.
Commenting on the development Lalu Prasad said that Ram Kripal never showed any interest in contesting election from Patliputra. He is in the Rajya Sabha for two more years.
“I lost by just 10,000 votes. Ram Kripal never showed his eagerness to contest. I know Ram Kripal would not spoil his career and be misguided by anyone,” he said.
On the other hand BJP leader, Giriraj Singh, welcomed Ram Kripal’s move to join the BJP.
