BJP to launch raths, hold rallies during election campaign


Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party has planned to flag off 250 raths and hold 1,000 rallies during the 50 day campaign for the six-phase Lok Sabha elections in the state.

According to the state unit BJP president Mangal Pandey the party would send out one rath each, equipped with state-of-art LED TV, on the campaign trail in each Assembly segment of 40 Lok Sabha constituencies from March 7. It will have content like Modi’s humble background as a tea seller, his slogans and speeches particularly the one made at Hunkar Rally in Patna on Oct 27 last year.

With slogan like Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi each rath will visit at least four to five places in the Assembly segments on a daily basis to screen visuals.

The state party chief said that permission for sending out the raths, which would have GPS, was being taken from the district administration.

The campaign by raths would be additional to public meetings of the top party leaders and candidates.

In addition, 25 lakh stickers and one crore hand bills would be distributed among people during electioneering, Pandey said.
