Devoid of Muslim leaders LJP woos Mehboob Ali Qaiser?

Patna,(BiharTimes): In another twist to the state politics former Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Chaudhary Mehboob Ali Qaiser, is likely to contest as the Lok Janshakti Party candidate from Khagaria parliamentary seat.

Media reports said that he had held talks with LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan and his son Chirag. He may join the LJP in a couple of days. The party has already announced the names of six of the seven candidates. Only the name of Khagaria is to be announced.

Qaiser, who is not even the party MLA, along with several other leaders is sulking over the Congress allocating Khagaria seat to RJD.

As most Muslim leaders of LJP has resigned from the party after its alliance with the BJP it is finding it difficult to give ticket to any candidate from the community. Thus it is trying to woo Qaiser though in the 2009 parliamentary election he could get just 1.27 lakh votes from Khagaria. Therefore, his own party rejected his demand for seat from Khagaria this time.

Qaiser has recently written a letter to Congress central leadership expressing his protest over the “total sellout of seats” to RJD in complete disregard to the sentiments of senior party leaders.
