Door not fully open for Ram Kripal in BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): Though Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said on Saturday

that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader, Ram Kripal Yadav, is in touch with several leaders of his party yet he said that nothing much should be read in it.

Talking to the media he did not clarify whether Ram Kripal would be given a ticket by his party or not. However, speculation is rife that Ram Kripal may be fielded by the BJP from Patliputra after RJD denied it.

But things are not perfectly all right in the BJP too. Since this latest controversy in the RJD took place so late it would be difficult for the saffron party to accommodate him. The party has in all practical purpose allotted ticket to Nawal Kishore Yadav, who had joined the party recently.

Though Ram Kripal has a much bigger profile and the party could easily change the candidate in the final moment but his name is likely to be opposed by many within the BJP. Nawal himself is most likely to oppose his entry as it may jeopardise his prospect. That is why on Friday he followed Ram Kripal to Delhi.

On Friday BJP sources in Delhi ruled out that Ram Kripal is joining the BJP. This was so in spite of the fact that several news channels carried the stories that he had met Rajnath Singh or some other senior leaders of the party.

The Janata Dal (United) has already closed its door for Ram Kripal by stating that it already has Ranjan Yadav as sitting MP. Besides, Ram Kripal never had a very cordial relationship with Ranjan even when the latter was in RJD as its working president.

Ram Kripal’s relationship with Shyam Rajak too is not very good though earlier they were known as Ram and Shyam of the ruling RJD.

The problem for Ram Kripal is that a couple of Yadav RJD legislators of Patliputra parliamentary constituency were not happy with him. They would have sabotaged his prospect but may work whole-heartedly for Misa Bharati.
