BJP offers ticket of choice to turncoats, but not to NaMo loyalists

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bharatiya Janata Party has emerged as a unique party in Bihar. While it is giving tickets of choice to the turncoats such as Ram Kripal Yadav, Sushil Kumar Singh, Putul Kumari Singh, Om Prakash Yadav, Captain Jai Narayan Nishad (obviously to his son) and even left seven and three seats of choice for Lok Janshakti Party and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party it has no place for its old committed and die-hard Narendra Modi loyalists. Even the new entrants like Union home secretary like Raj Kumar Singh and Bhojpuri singer Manoj Tiwary got seats of their choice.

While those who championed the cause of Narendra Modi throughout these years have been completely marginalized those who till last month used to call BJP’s prime ministerial candidate a hatyara (killer), tanasha (dictator) and fascist are being welcomed, garlanded and allotted the ticket they demand.

While party leader like former ministers Ashwani Kumar Choubey and Ramadhar Singh did not even figure in the list Giriraj Singh, another former minister and Narendra Modi-loyalist, has been allotted ticket from Nawada when he had at the very outset said that he would not contest the election from anywhere other than Begusarai. He had conveyed to the party president, Rajnath Singh, and others his feeling.

What is strange is that while the party ignored the request of old leaders for the constituency of their choice the new one were given ticket of the constituency of their choice. For example, Ram Kripal Yadav got Patliputra as demanded by him and not, say Munger or Banka. This in spite of the fact that the party had earlier assured Nawal Kishore Yadav that he would be made the candidate. Nawal Kishore even earned the wrath of his own party, the RJD and was expelled by it, Ram Kripal got the ticket at the 11th hour, even though his party never took any action against him. He himself left and joined the saffron brigade for the sake of ticket.

Ram Kripal, like Ram Vilas Paswan, has been a vocal critic of Narendra Modi though after getting ticket he is speaking a different language.

In case of Giriraj the party accepted the demand of the sitting MP, Bhola Singh, to shift him to Begusarai, but did not heard the plea of the former.

Though the BJP made a big claim of sweeping Bihar it had to go in alliance with the much smaller forces like Lok Janshakti Party and Rashtriya Lok Samata Party. Besides, in about one-third of the 30 seats the party is fighting it has put up turncoats and new entrants.

Leaders like Manoj Kumar Singh, MLC, is not like Giriraj Singh or Ashwani Choubey, who would still remain in the party. He chose to quit the party and contest as Janata Dal (United) candidate from Siwan, after the party gave ticket to Independent sitting MP, Om Prakash Yadav.
