BJP woman MLA threatens to contest from Patna Saheb as Independent

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Paliganj BJP MLA, Usha Vidyarthi, has threatened to contest election as an Independent candidate from the Patna Saheb parliamentary seat. Interestingly, the party has not decided its candidate from here and is reportedly asking the sitting MP, Shatrughan Sinha to contest somewhere from Delhi.

Talking to the media on Friday she came down heavily on the party leadership for giving tickets to the turncoats and all those people who have always criticized the BJP and its prime ministerial nominee, Narendra Modi.

She said that she had talked to party workers who are extremely upset and that she is in the process of taking decision in this regard soon. “If my workers say so I would definitely fight from Patna Saheb as an Independent,” she proclaimed.

After the announcement of the names of 25 candidates the state unit of the party has plunged into a complete turmoil. There is hardly any parliamentary constituency where the partymen are not up in arms over the choice of candidate.

They said that in nine out of 25 seats for which candidates have been announced turncoats and new-comers with no experience of politics have been given tickets. What they fear is that the rest five may also be given to the new entrants thus leaving 16 seats for the old and faithful guards. In this 16, Giriraj Singh, has already refused to contest from Nawada. The party has left 10 seats for the LJP and RLSP, which is another cause of trouble for the party.

Observers are of the view that the BJP does not now appear to be the party which it was till a fortnight back. There is complete chaos and leaders are speaking out of turn against each other. Accusations are flying thick and fast. The rebels are holding the central leadership as well as former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi responsible for the present situation.
