Former Congress minister Mahavir Chaudhary passes away

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Former minister and Congress leader, Mahavir Chaudhary, died at a private hospital after prolonged illness here on Sunday. He was 90 and is survived by wife and five sons.

One of his son, Ashok Chaudhary, is the president of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee.

Mahavir had represented Rajauli, Jehanabad (SC), Makhdumpur and Barbigha for eight terms in four decades long political career.

He also served as minister in various Congress governments in the state.

He was first elected to the Assembly from Rajauli seat in 1961. 

Condoling his death Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that it caused a huge void in public life. He said the departed Congress leader was a tall public figure who toiled for the uplift and welfare of all sections of the society throughout his life.
