JD(U) leadership in touch with Congress

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Janata Dal (United) chief Sharad Yadav is reported to have held talks with Congress leadership which is understood to have assured him of support in the formation of the new government in Bihar following resignation by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

JD(U) has 115 MLAs and Congress with four legislatures had been supporting the Nitish Kumar government.

Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed, said his party has been supporting JD(U) government from outside and there was no reason to discontinue it.

BJP has 89 seats in the Assembly and RJD 21. JD(U) also has support of one CPI MLA and two Independents. There are six vacancies in the House.

However, in the by-poll held for five seats the RJD had won three, and the BJP and Janata Dal (United) one each.
