Narendra backs Nitish as Bijendra’s name floats for CM

Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as the name of energy minister, Bijendra Yadav or speaker, Uday Narayan Chaudhary, is doing the rounds for the likely successor of Nitish Kumar agriculture minister, Narendra Singh, on Sunday reposed full faith in the leadership of Nitish Kumar.

Talking to the media hours before the JD(U) legislature party meeting he said that the party MLAs would again elect Nitish as their leader and there is no question of any change in leadership.

He hotly denied that he was in touch with the BJP leaders as is being rumoured in the media.

“Nitish Kumar will continue to remain as the CM. I am not going to become the CM,” he said adding that his party did not need the support of RJD as it is strong enough to survive.

He said party chief Sharad Yadav might have his own view but it is ultimately the MLAs who had to elect and they would elect Nitish.

He does not rule out any need for the secular alliance, but said that it should have been done earlier.

When asked about the likely support from RJD he said the JD(U) has enough strength and if any such situation arises it would be the party workers who would be taken into confidence.
