New MLCs touch Nitish’s feet, seek his blessings as Manjhi watches silently

Patna,(BiharTimes): Hours before the swearing-in ceremony of new Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, something unusual happened in Patna.
At least three of the 12 newly nominated MLCs, after taking oath in the Legislative Council Hall, not only deemed it fit to accept blessings from the outgoing chief minister, Nitish Kumar, but, as a mark of respect, they even touched his feet. The three who did so were former BJP leader Ranbir Nandan. Samrat Chaudhary, who crossed over from the RJD, and Sanjay Kumar Singh alias Sanjay Gandhi. Nitish even congratulated them on this occasion.
Incidentally, chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who was present on this occasion at the Legislative Council, was ignored by all the new MLCs. They did not even wish him and a couple of them even did not look at him.
The oath was administered by the Chairman of the Bihar Legislative Council, Awadesh Narayan Singh. The function started at 10:00 AM.
It was Nitish, who was the master of the show. Manjhi’s presence was just ceremonial. After the function he left for Delhi by 12:50 PM flight to attend the swearing in ceremony of Modi.
Monday’s development shows as to who is really calling the shot in the Janata Dal (United) and who is ruling the state from behind.
