Achche Din of brooms have arrived, teases Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday came down heavily on the Swachch Bharat (Clean India) campaign of prime minister Narendra Modi.

While launching his Sampark Yatra (Mass Contact March) from Bettiah in West Champaran district he said that ‘achche din’ (good days) of the ‘jhaadus’ (brooms) are here.

He said India might not have become clean, but the price of ‘jhaadus’ has certainly gone up.

Referring to the India Islamic Cultural Centre (New Delhi) incident where first garbage was scattered and then cleaned by a BJP leader for photo-op Nitish questioned the very wisdom of such exercise. A similar exercise was undertaken by the Bihar BJP chief Mangal Pandey at Haj Bhawan in Patna a couple of days back.

Ironically, both these buildings are situated in one of the cleanest parts of New Delhi and Patna and are well maintained.

Nitish got full opportunity to pooh-pooh such drama in the name of cleanliness. What is the point in cleaning the already clean areas?
