Nitish accuses Narendra Modi of cheating farmers, youths

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday once again came down heavily on prime minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling the election promises made to farmers and youths though they voted for his party.

Addressing the Janata Dal (United) workers at Sheikhpura and Nawada districts he criticized the Centre over the issues of stopping bonus and not increasing the Minimum Support Price on the agriculture produce of farmers as promised.

Nitish distributed the copy of Union government’s letter to mediapersons, which pleaded against paying bonus by state governments to farmers as it led to exodus of traders from the respective states. The letter, dated June 12, 2014, was written by Union ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution.

Nitish also alleged that the Modi government was withholding Rs 970 crore due to the state. He said Narendra Modi promised jobs to the youths during election speeches, but after coming to power his government banned any employment in central government for a year. He once again cautioned the party workers to beware of the lies and rumours being spread by the BJP.
