Manjhi shares dais with Nitish at home turf

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Wednesday shared the dais with his predecessor Nitish Kumar for the second day in succession at the former’s home turf of Gaya.Unlike on Tuesday at Jehanabad there was more bonhomie between the two. Manjhi arrived at the venue at 11:15 AM and waited for Nitish for half an hour. They greeted each other at the arrival. In their respective speeches both of them referred to each other.

While Manjhi said that he is carrying further the developmental works initiated by Nitish, the latter repeatedly referred to the problems the Manjhi government is facing at the hands of the Narendra Modi government, for example the deduction of funds by the Centre. He said that neither the UPA nor the Narendra Modi government had reimbursed Rs 1,000 crore spent by the state government on the maintenance and repair of National Highways.

Though all these works were taken up when Nand Kishore Yadav was the road construction minister and Sushil Kumar Modi the deputy chief minister-cum-finance minister yet today they are the one opposing the state government’s demand, he added. The former chief minister squarely blamed the Narendra Modi government for neglecting the National Highways of Bihar and not fulfilling the promises made to farmers and youths by the Narendra Modi during the Lok Sabha election campaign.

There was more enthusiasm among the party workers today than Tuesday or any other day. The body languages of both the leaders suggested that they were more relaxed.
