Manjhi invites private universities to Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Perhaps the only new announcement which chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi made while presenting the Report Card 2014 on Tuesday is the invitation to the private universities in Bihar.

While stating that the state government has given top priority to the education sector and had made huge allocation of funds in the budget he said Bihar had signed an agreement with one private university after the enactment of Bihar State Private University Act, 2013. He urged other private players in the education sector to set up their institutions in the state so that the students do not migrate for the sake of education.

He also said that his government had decided to open one primary school for every 40 families and one middle school for every three primary schools.

Thus the plan is to open 4,600 new primary schools by March 2015. Besides, 1,000 new higher secondary schools would come up by the end of the financial year 2014-15. The chief minister also said that educational tour funds under the CM Parivhraman Yojana have been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 for every school.
