Bihar’s first eye bank comes up in IGIMS

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar’s first eye bank has come up at IGIMS in Patna and joint transplant facility had started at Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital, also in the state capital.

The state government also plans to open six superspecialty departments: nephrology, cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, radio therapy and geriatrics in six medical colleges of the state.

According to the Report Card one medical college each is coming up in Saran, Samastipur and Purnia while a new dental college for Nalanda has also been approved. At least one additional primary health centre (PHC) in 534 blocks of the state are now offering 24X7 services, it said. In all 1,384 Ayush doctors have been appointed at additional PHC level. A 'Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre' has been opened in every district to control malnutrition and provide guidance on nutrition and hygiene to mothers.

The Manjhi government also claimed to have organised over 6,700 health check-up camps since October 15 last under the New Generation Health Guarantee Programme.

The Report Card also said that the water supply scheme has been implemented in 24 towns in the state. At least 84,000 toilets were constructed at APL and BPL homes.
