BJP capitalized better power situation for winning LS poll: Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former chief minister Nitish Kumar said on Thursday that improved electricity supply in Bihar, especially in its rural heartland, had helped the BJP project their prime ministerial candidate (Narendra Modi) and also facilitate the saffron party spread canards about Bihar and his government.

Addressing Janata Dal (United) workers in Sasaram he, in a way, said that it is the achievement of his government in power sector, which helped the BJP win so many seats in Bihar. He said that since electricity had reached 20,000-odd villages of Bihar the spread of televisions helped the BJP to propagate its mission.

He once again conceded that he did not pay adequate attention to the party’s organization. Now that he had resigned from the post of chief minister he is doing his best to tone up the party machinery and is directly listening to the workers and interacting with them.He said that since he had brought Bihar on track he can bring in shape the party too and make it fit to combat the BJP. He asked the party workers to use their verbal and other skills to coutner the false and baseless propaganda and lies of the saffron party.

The JD(U) workers should be fully equipped to give befitting reply to the BJP as they have won the election by cheating and bluffing the people. Both in Sasaram and Aurangabad, where he addressed earlier in the day, Nitish was aggressive and exhorted partymen not to indulge in squabbling and remain united.

In Aurangabad the former CM hinted that if given opportunity once again he is ready to serve the state.
