Probe panel submits report on Gandhi Maidan stampede

Patna,(BiharTimes): The two member committee constituted to probe the Patna’s Gandhi Maidan stampede of October 3 on Friday submitted its report to the chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Thirty-three people were killed after the stampede on Ravan Dahan evening. After the incident the government constituted a two-member committee to probe the matter. The two members were the home secretary, Amir Subhani, and ADG (Headquarters), Gupteshwar Pandey. They are likely to address a Press conference on Saturday morning.

However, the BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi demanded that the report be made public. If the state government does not make it public by December 19 his party would launch a stir against it.He said that the report was actually submitted a month back, but the state government has been busy in cover up and charged that it is shielding the officials involvied in the tragedy as they are close to the former chief minister Nitish Kumar.
