Anant Singh refutes Sushil Modi’s allegation, says work in mall started in 2009

Patna,(BiharTimes): JD (U) MLA from Mokama Anant Singh strongly refuted the allegation levelled by BJP leader, Sushil Kumar Modi, that the shopping mall built by him in Fraser Road violates the norms of the PMC and that it was inaugurated on Sep 26 last.

Talking to the media he said the property was already handed over to its builders in 2012 and they were doing their business.

The BJP was very much in the power in 2012.

Anant Singh said there was no question of the mall's inauguration on September 26 as the proprietor was already doing his business there since 2012.

The controversial MLA said that Sushil Kumar Modi is hurling baseless allegations. He should have gone through the legal documents of the mall.

“The plot is owned by me and I gave it on rent to the mall proprietor. Its construction started in 2009 and it was handed over to the proprietor in 2012. The Patna district administration and Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials have inspected the plan and legal documents of the mall. The proprietor had arranged a special programme before Durga Puja as public relation activity on that day. So, I went there,” the JD(U) strongman closed to former CM Nitish Kumar said.

Incidentally, in 2009 when the work had started in the mall Sushil Modi was the deputy chief minister-cum-finance minister of Bihar, yet he did not raise the objection then. It is only recently that he held Nitish Kumar directly responsible for the construction of mall.

Anant Singh said Sushil Modi is creating the controversy just to grab media attention. He should look into his own family. His relative Mahesh Modi had illegally occupied the house of Ramdhari Singh located on Arya Kumar Road.

Anant Singh said there was an interim order of PMC commissioner Kuldip Narayan to demolish the top two floors of the mall and stop further work.

The MLA, however, saoid the building is of B+G+6 and “we already have permission for mezzanine floor on the sixth floor. On August 1, the PMC ordered stay on the construction of the building and since then no construction has taken place there. All the documents were reviewed by the authorities concerned.”
Meanwhile, Sushil Kumar Modi said Mahesh Modi is his cousin and that the house was vacated by the latter long back.
