C P Thakur praises Manjhi, flays his detractors

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Union health minister and senior BJP leader Dr C P Thakur has come out strongly in favour of the chief minister, Jitan Ram Manjhi, and supported the steps taken by him after the Gandhi Maidan tragedy of October 3.
Talking to the media on Wednesday Dr Thakur, without naming the JD(U) as well as BJP leaders accused some politicians of making mountain out of molehill and unnecessarily criticizing Manjhi, who comes from the weaker section of the society.
Strongly defending Manjhi he said as to who was the chief minister of Bihar when the serial blasts took place during the Narendra Modi’s rally on October 27 last year.
He did not stop there but went on to raise the failure of the state administration during the Chhath day stampede in November 2012.
He deliberately named the Chhath incident fully knowing that his own party, the BJP, was in power with the Janata Dal (United).
Dr Thakur’s statement came as a surprise as, of late, the former deputy chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, has been criticizing chief minister. On Tuesday he went on to ask the JD(U) to elect new chief minister.
Dr Thakur has repeatedly been giving statement against the position of the party. He has openly criticized Sushil Modi a number of times in the recent weeks.
