RJD questions JD(U)’s claim over Bihar CM’s post

Patna,(BiharTimes): Rashtriya Janata Dal leaders Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Abdul Bari Siddiqui on Sunday made it clear that chief minister would be elected by the MLAs of the grand alliance, if it gets majority, after the next Assembly election.
Talking to the media Raghuvansh in particular took a much strongeer stand. He was reacting to Nitish Kumar’s comment that he is not running away from the responsibility and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s remark that the former is his party, Janata Dal (United)’s candidate for the post of chief minister.
The former Union minister and RJD leader said that after the formation of grand alliance it is the leaders of the three parties and legislators who would decide who should be elected as the chief minister. There is no scope for any individual to give statement on the chief ministerial candidate now.
He strongly claimed that after the Lok Sabha election results it is the RJD and not Janata Dal (United), which is the strongest party of the grand alliance. The Janata Dal (United) is a big party in the Assembly today only because it contested the election with the BJP last time. Now the latest election should be made the basis to stake claim, he added.
The leader of RJD in the Legislative Assembly, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, too took a similar stand. He said even if the CM candidate is to be decided before the election it should be done so after the meeting of the leaders of all the three constituents of the grand alliance and not just by a leader of any particular party.
