Patna,(BiharTimes): Reacting to the Anand Kishore Committee report and subsequent state government action against 11 officials former Union health minister and BJP leader Dr C P Thakur said on Sunday that all those involved in the medicine and equipment purchase scam appear to be dacoits.
Talking to the media he wondered as to how could they plan and execute such a scam. “Are these people a gang of dacoits, who indulged in looting?” he said adding that he has already demanded CBI probe into the matter.
Dr Thakur’s statement is significant as he was extremely critical at the way in which former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi was leading the campaign against Nitish Kumar. Dr Thakur, a few weeks back, went on to claim that it would be wrong to drag Nitish’s name as he is an honest and upright politician.
But RJD leader Raghuvansh Prasad Singh has something else to say. He said that it would not be fully appropriate to just take action against officials. What about the ministers and chief minister? Why were they not aware as to what was going on in their department? The accountability should be fixed as to how the scam took place, he said adding officials should not be made sacrificial goat to protect the real culprits.
