JD(U) clarifies Nitish’s campaign in Haryana as Rabri pitched for Congress

Patna,(BiharTimes): Commenting on former chief minister Nitish Kumar’s campaign for the Indian National Lok Dal candidates the Janata Dal (United) spokesman, Ajay Alok, said on Monday that his party has the right to decide as to which political force is in a better position to defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He said that since Om Prakash Chautala has emerged as a powerful challenger to the BJP his party has decided to back him. “Nobody can take away from us the right to take our own decision,” he added.
Ajay Alok’s came after the state Congress party’s media incharge, Prem Chand Mishra, said that Nitish should have thought before going for the campaign in favour of INLD, which is fighting against the Congress. Former BPCC chief Sadanand Singh had also given a similar statement.
However, another party leader, Sarwat Jehan, said that there is nothing wrong in Nitish’s campaign as the grand alliance is only for Bihar. After all Shiv Sena and BJP are fighting Assembly election against each other in Maharashtra though they are in alliance at the Centre.
Nitish has not just campaigned for INLD, but along with party’s national president Sharad Yadav attended a function of Rashtriya Lok Dal in Meerut a couple of days back.
Meanwhile, the RJD leader Rabri Devi had in contrast campaigned for the Congress party’s candidates in Haryana. However, her political rivals are saying that she had done so as one of her daughters is married to the son of a Congress leader of Haryana.
