Bihar govt blacklists Gammon India Ltd

Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government has blacklisted Gammon India Limited (GIL) and seized Rs 65 crore security money for its failure to complete the water supply project in Patna notwithstanding several extensions.
According to urban development and housing department (UDHD) minister Samrat Chaudhary the decision was taken after the GIL refused to respond.
The water supply project awarded to the GIL was scheduled to be completed more than a year ago, but it failed to meet the deadline in spite of the repeated extensions. More than half of the project is still incomplete.
Chaudhary also announced the extension of last date for submitting objections or suggestions regarding the newly introduced Patna Master Plan from October 15 to October 31.
The minister said the department would conduct seminars and send text messages to Patnaites for increasing public participation for improvising the plan.
