State govt’s Diwali gift: A seven per cent hike in DA for its employees

 


Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar government on Tuesday offered Diwali gift for its three lakh employees and almost the same number of pensioners. The Jitan Ram Manjhi cabinet announced an increase of seven per cent in Dearness Allowance (DA) for them.
According to the Principal Secretary Cabinet Coordination Brajesh Mehrotra the enhanced DA would be given from July 1, 2014. Now the employees would get 107 per cent DA.
The enhanced DA would cost Rs 550 crore additional burden on the state exchequer.
Besides, the cabinet gave its approval to 24 proposals of different departments that were listed for the meeting.
