BJP observes first anniversary of Hunkar rally blasts as Aatankwad Virodh Diwas

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday paid tributes to the victims of the serial blasts on the first anniversary of the last year’s Hunkar rally.

It was observed as Aatank Virodh Diwas (anti-terrorism day). Six persons lost their lives and several others injured in serial blasts at Patna railway station, inside the Gandhi Maidan and outside it. It was on October 27 last year that BJP’s prime ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi, had addressed a rally in Gandhi Maidan.

Political observers are of the view that the blasts, instead of shattering the morale of the BJP workers and supporters, helped it consolidate and paved the way for it to come to power in India.

Paying tributes to six victims of the serial-blasts the former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, solely held the then chief minister Nitish Kumar responsible for the serial blasts and loss of lives.

Dharmraj Yadav, a railway porter who caught redhanded a terrorist at the Patna railway station, was among those honoured by the Bihar BJP at the party headquarters.

However, family members of most of the victims later, while talking to the media, regretted that neither the state government nor the Narendra Modi government or the BJP did anything for them. They are yet to get any job, was the general complaint.

“It is true some BJP leaders visited us and paid some money, but that was all,” one of them said.
