SuMo asks Bihar govt to make public all probe reports

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Monday asked the state government to make public all the probe reports at the earliest and said that cases should be lodged against errant officials who have been named in the probe reports.

In a statement on the occasion of the completion of one year of the serial blasts in Patna he criticized the Janata Dal (United) government for sitting on various probe reports.

He said the state government orders investigation and then wilfully tries to hush up the matter by not making public the inquiry reports.

He cited the example of Forbesganj police firing of June 3, 2011, stampede during Chhath festival at Adalat Ghat in Patna on November 19, 2012, purification of a temple in Madhubani district after the visit of chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on August 18, stampede at Gandhi Maidan after Ravan Dahan on Oct 3 last and medicine purchase scam.

Incidentally, the BJP was very much in power with the Janata Dal (United) when Forbesganj firing and Chhath stampede took place and on both the occasions it strongly defended the then Nitish Kumar government. It was very much in power when the Kosi flood devastated a large part of north Bihar in August 2008 abd whose report came up recently.
