Nitish calls meeting of JD(U) top brass, but once again keeps CM away

Patna,(BiharTimes): Ahead of party’s Sampark Yatra (Mass contact March) senior Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar held a meeting with party MPs, ex-MPs, legislators, ex-legislators and other elected representatives on Monday. But once again chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi was nowhere in the scene though many of his ministers were present.

Incidentally, it coincided with the first anniversary of the serial blasts at Narendra Modi’s Hunkar rally. A day after this rally the JD(U) had organized Chintan Shivir in Rajgir on Oct 28 last year.

The Monday meeting was held in districtwise groups and the leaders were told to involve party workers in Sampark Yatra starting from November 13 and the political conferences of JD (U) workers at each district headquarters.

Nitish, according to workers, asked them to ensure the involvement of all party workers in these conferences. They have been asked to gear up for the 2015 Assembly election in Bihar.

They were also asked to adopt aggressive approach and expose the BJP which has failed to fulfil most of its promises made during the campaign for the Lok Sabha election, for example, bringing back blackmoney.

They have also been asked to tell the masses as to how the BJP had taken a U-turn on granting the special status to Bihar.

The meeting lasted for over seven hours till late on Monday evening.
