Dr Rabin Mishra is new Mahavir Cancer Sansthan director

 

 

Patna,(BiharTimes): Dr Rabin Chandra Mishra has been appointed the director of Mahavir Cancer Sansathan following the resignation of Dr Jitendra Kumar Singh. Dr Rabin, a former director of Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre Institute (Cuttack), will join on October 1.

At present Dr Manisha Singh is working as its acting director.

According to Acharya Kishore Kunal, Secretary of Mahavir Mandir Trust, Dr Mishra has been selected for three years by a five-member committee comprising Emeritus Professor of Cancer Department of Benaras Hindu University, Dr Harishankar Shukla, Dr M Vijaykumar of a Bangalore-based cancer hospital, Justice (retd) S N Jha, former Chief Secretary of Bihar and Jharkhand, V S Dubey and Kunal himself.
Kunal said the tenure of Dr Singh expired last year and applications for the post were invited last month itself.
Dr Mishra has a 30 years of experience in this field. He was the senior most among the 12 applicants. He specializes in Oncology Surgery. He has been awarded several fellowships and has many national and international publications to his credit.
Dr Pradeep Kumar, who was working with an Andhra Pradesh medical college, has been appointed as in charge of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) courses at the institute.
Dr Jitendra Kumar Singh will now concentrate on his own cancer hospital at Kankarbagh.
