Patna,(BiharTimes): A day after former chief minister Nitish Kumar wrote a letter to him, his former deputy and BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Friday released a letter he sent to Union health minister Harsh Vardhan seeking a CBI investigation into the medicine and equipment purchase scam.
A day later on Saturday SuMo asked Nitish that he wanted to know who was the chief minister and the health minister of the state when the overpriced medicine were purchased.
He reiterated that the K K Singh committee was formed in January this year and the government announced that it would submit its report within seven days. Instead it took seven months to table the report.
He said Nitish should seek the details from Right to Information office instead of him. After all he is in the “super CM” and should be aware of everything.
Most of the department secretaries report to him instead of chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi. He went to Nalanda recently in a cavalcade of 61 cars. The officer on special duty (OSD) to Manjhi also accompanied him.
SuMo explained how Nitish’s private secretary during his first term as CM, Sanjay Kumar, was related to him and was involved in this whole process of purchase of overpriced medicine and equipment.
The BJP leader claimed that former superintendent of Patna Medical College and Hospital Dr O P Choudhary, a relative of a JD(U) MLC close to Nitish, was the prime accused in the medicine purchase scam of the state-run hospital. The case is being monitored by the high court.
However, political observers are of the view that the more Sushil Modi is digging up the medicine purchase scam the more former BJP ministers are finding themselves in trouble. After all Dr Chaoudhary was the superintendent of PMCH, when the BJP was very much in the power with the Janata Dal (United). Then the health portfolio was with Ashwini Kumar Choubey and Nand Kishore Yadav while Sushil Modi himself was the finance minister of the state.
