High court indicts PMC for its failure to clear Patna of rain water

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Patna high court on Thursday indicted the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner for the civic body’s failure to get the state capital rid of the waterlogging and garbage.

The court move came after the PMC Commissioner, Kuldip Narayan, sought eight to nine months time to free the city from waterlogging, encroachment and garbage.

The court reiterated that there should be no water logging in the state capital for more than four hours. It again said that Patna is the dirtiest state capital of the country.

The court said that whenever a crisis emerges the PMC comes out with its detail project report (DPR) and seek more time. What does it do all these years? Why is the civic body reminded of doing something only when the situation turns extremely bad? Why is there no concrete plan for Patna?

The high court summoned the principal secretary urban development department on Friday.
