Upendra Kushwaha opposes Venkaiah Naidu’s stand on SuMo as CM candidate


Patna,(BiharTimes): Union minister of state for human resources development and the leader of Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, Upendra Kushwaha, on Thursday strongly opposed the statement given by his ministerial colleague and senior BJP leader, Venkaiah Naidu, on Sushil Kumar Modi. Both Naidu and Union agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh had on March 27 last, said that the saffron party should project Sushil Kumar Modi as the chief ministerial candidate before the Assembly election of Bihar.


Kushwaha said that NDA leaders should sit together and come out with a leader and added Naidu’s statement is only of a BJP leader and not that of NDA. Even other leaders of the BJP have different views on the issue, he added.He said that his party and LJP too are parts of the NDA and any decision can be taken only when all these parties sit together. The NDA has not taken any decision yet on this issue.


The Union Minister said that NDA should carefully draw its strategy for Bihar Assembly election.Hinting at the likely merger of the parties of Janata Parivar he said that the NDA would take a decision on whether it should project any chief ministerial candidate or not at an appropriate time.


He condemned the statement given by his ministerial colleague, Giriraj Singh, on Sonia Gandhi, and said the ministers should maintain dignity. The remarks is condemnable and not the first of its kind from Giriraj.
