Manjhi urges supporters to travel to Patna without ticket to attend April 20 rally

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi on Thursday gave another statement which may land many of his apologists in a difficult position.

His appeal to the people to travel without ticket on April 20 to attend the rally of Hindustani Awam Morcha in Patna is going to pose a big challenge to the railways, which is a central subject. Much depends on how the Narendra Modi government’s railway ministry, now headed by Suresh prabhu, reacts. Addressing his supporters in Rohtas district he asked the supporters not to travel in three or four as this may expose them to the authority and they may be arrested; rather travel in a large number so that nobody could dare to touch them.

He has his own logic: poor people can not afford to pay train and bus fare to attend the rally. But it raises a counter question: Why is HAM not hiring trains and buses to ferry people to Patna as other parties do. Is the outfit too poor?

That such an appeal has been made by a former chief minister of the state came as a shock to many who gathered to listen to his speech.
